On 3rd January 1969 in the town of Hűrth Northrhine Westphalia a baby was born to a brick layer Rolf Schumacher and his wife Elizabeth. It was the birth of a star, a hero, a sportsman who would in the coming years change the F1 scene, set new records which was never imagined by anyone to be achieved. He redefined how competitive and focused a driver can be in F1.
Michael's love for motorsport was within him from a young age. When he was 4 years his father modified his pedal kart by adding a small engine and that's how the little Michael started his journey.
His parents took him to the karting track at Kerpen-Horrem, where he became the youngest member of the karting club. His father soon built him a kart from discarded parts and at the age of 6, Michael won his first club championship. To support his son's racing, Rolf Schumacher took on a second job renting and repairing karts, while his wife worked at the track's canteen.
In Germany as per regulations a driver to be at least 14 years old to obtain a kart license. To get around this, Michael obtained a license in Luxembourg at the age of 12.
Michael obtained his German license un the year 1983. Then in 1984, he won the German Junior Kart Championship. And then started Michael's winning spree. From 1984 onwards Michael Schumacher won many German and European Kart Championships. He joined Eurokart dealer Adolf Neubert in 1985 and by 1987 he was the German and European Kart Champion, then he quit school and began working as a mechanic.
This is how the story began of the worlds best F1 driver.
